Luvspell shoot in PDS unit.
It was lunch time of an ordinary Sunday in our unit in PDS. My office mate gave me a ring. He was asking where I am, I told him I am in the unit. Then he said, they will come over, then he hung up. That was Pangyao, he said they will come over so I thought, a potential buyer of the unit was with him. We are selling our PDS unit by the way, any interested buyer can email me. Also, it is for rent, interested renters can do the same. That was an instant ad, ha-ha!
Five minutes later, they were already on our door. Pangyao was not with a potential buyer. He was with two ABS-CBN employees. Actually, they are from the Program Luvspell. I am really not familiar with the program but it is aired during Sundays after the A.S.A.P. I think. She introduced herself as Vivian, she was wearing her ABS-CBN i.d. of course. They were looking for a vacant unit which they can use for the shoot. Then she looked at my dining table and said that it was nice. (We were about to have our lunch actually and kuya Luigi was already having his first bite of the fried chicken my husband cooked when they arrived.)
They said, the cast will be the PBB stars (Gian, Mickey and others) and their director is one of the directors of the Maging Sino Ka Man. She mentioned her name actually but I cannot remember, I do not know her anyways.
We thought, it is okay to have their shoot in our unit, anyways, we do not live there. The unit has been our weekend house for months now because we moved near my mother’s house.
Vivian took some pictures of the unit, the rooms, the furniture and all. She got my number and said that she will text me if ever our unit will be chosen by their production designer for the shoot.
A week after, we were in a grocery buying milk and diapers for Gayle. I got a phone call from Vivian, she said, my unit was chosen and that they will start the one-day shoot the following day. I do not want to ask for the payment and all. But she did mention something about the check payment and it was quite okay. I can consider the payment for the one-day shoot as a rent of the unit for one month. Not bad, huh?
So, we cleaned the place but the last minute she texted that their shoot was cancelled due to bad weather. Okay, no big deal.
The following week, she called, their shoot will be on Tuesday on that same week. They will need the unit as early as 6:00a.m.
That Tuesday, Elma, one of my yayas was there in the unit to assist the crew. I dropped by before I left for office. They are still at the PDS parking lot and market for a scene. Our unit was still the same and in order. I just told Vivian I will drop by after office at around 7:00p.m. because I have to sign something.
And so I did. I went inside the unit. It was a totally a different unit, really.
They turned the unit up-side-down. They changed the curtains in the living room, they removed the carpet, and they used the old sofa and placed my new sofa on the other room. They placed some pictures of trees and river in the wall. They rearranged the master bedroom, but they did not change the curtains and bed sheet. Suddenly, I got a different feeling, seems like I was not flattered anymore that they chose our unit, because if ever I will see that set up on television, I myself could not recognize that it was our unit.
The place was so crowded. I even saw one staff using my bedroom slippers. That slipper was still inside a plastic because I am not using that. Everybody was saying, pasensya na po ha. My reply was just, ok lang.
I went to the laundry area, two people are cooking longganisa. Yes, they were using my stove, my pan, my plate and all.
I was like, okay, I agreed for them to use our unit, which also means I allowed them to use the things inside and that does not include my slippers, right?
Vivian was not in the unit when I dropped by that night. So, I just told Elma, to look after them and assist them.
On our way home, I told my husband, kawawa naman yung unit. Also, something is really bothering me that night so, I texted Vivian, I just told her to make sure to put back the things in their previous places right after the shoot. In fairness to her, she re-assured me that after the shoot, everything will be back to their original places.
I was advised thru text that they are about to finish the shoot before 6:00am the following day, Wednesday that is. I went to check the unit. And yes, everything was on their original places. The curtains in the living room, the carpet, the sofa, the bed in the master’s bedroom. Except for some little things like the tissue holder in the small table and jar of candies inside the second room that were used to be on top of the refrigerator. But as of that Wednesday morning, nothing is missing. Well, I hope. I wish. I was not able to check everything because I have to hurry back to our house to get ready for office at 9:00. I will be having my general cleaning on Saturday, this week, worry not, I will keep you posted, ha-ha!
Vivian was there waiting for me. She apologized for this and for that. Elma kept on interrupting by reporting things that happened like, the electric fans were not working anymore, the comfort room was very dirty, and the toilet bowl was clogged because it was full of tissue papers.
She did not pay me that day because according to her, the check is still for processing, she just hand me a certain amount and when the check is ready for release, I will give her back that amount. I just said, okay, just text me.
Yeah, okay, whatever.
I hate money issues, remember? Me, being tagged as, you know by you know who. Anyways, there was already a huge period on that issue. Going back, I just told myself, if they pay me, thank you. If not, it is not my problem, it is theirs. Definitely a company like ABS-CBN will not run away with it but as to when, that I do not know, ha-ha.
Due to the typhoon Egay, the Malacañang declared a half day for all government offices. So, right after our lunch and our usual internet for an hour, we went home at 1:00p.m. Me and my husband dropped by the unit. He will check the electric fans and the clogged comfort room. My husband learned that all the outlets were short but since there was a circuit breaker in the unit, it was fixed in no time. Maybe they attempted to plug something with a high voltage or whatever. Anyways, there have been no huge damage done.
Just this morning Vivian texted me that she is now heading to the cashier to get my check, then she will proceed to the office to hand me the check. And by 10a.m., I already had the check amounting to, (secret) ha-ha, I hand her back the money she gave last Wednesday of course.

What have I learned from this?
I really felt that our unit was so harassed with all those lights, the crowded people and all. And also, I realized that the unit was also dear to me. People are asking me why we are not living there and why we have to move to another place. I have been telling people I do not like the unit and the environment. Actually, I like the unit, it is big and spacious, it has two big rooms, the comfort room is quite big but there are pipes in the ceiling and in the shower area, it has a laundry area at the back, the location of the kitchen sink maybe odd but the unit can look pleasing to the eye. All you need is a good choice of furniture and a little touch of artistic design and the unit can look like the two-bedroom model unit of Cypress.
Really now? Aha- absolutely.
But the environment, well, it is important that your neighbors have the same concern about environment. If not, you will have the same preference as mine, to sell the property.
