My Daughter You'll never really know, my dear, Just how much you mean to me, A mother's love, buried so deep, That only my heart can see. When I sit and really stare at you, All I can do is grin, Somewhere down deep inside, I see myself within. I'd never change a thing in you, I thank God that your so fine, Even when your at your worst, I'm so proud that you are mine. The roads we have traveled, were not always that good, I would take back all the pain you've felt, Only if I could. I know that I'm not perfect, It's the best that I can do, But everyday, I thank the lord, For a daughter as special as you. Janet Jenkins All Rights Reserved happy happy birthday, my princess! mommy loves you so...

I have a dear friend, Annie who is into reading books when we were in college. And every time she has a new book, she shares it with me. We love visiting Powerbooks at Megamall after dining at Frenchbaker. And every time I am blue, I always borrow her book, “Being Happy” by Andrew Matthews. Even though I have read it a million times already, it really makes me happy, makes me decide to be happy and continue to be happy. It is a self-help book which aims to help people understand themselves better and in turn become happier. It covers many aspects of life, among them attitudes, confidence, luck, success, depression, humour, forgiveness and many more. It discusses how an understanding of nature's laws can help us deal better with our own natures. It is about why you spill spaghetti only down the front of your BEST suit; why traffic lights stay red for half a day when you are running late for an appointment; why you can drive a wreck for fifteen years and never scratch it...

You can walk and talk when you were 2. It's so much fun to play with you. A tiny discoverer of butterfly wings, A hugger of Teddies, A sweet sleepyhead, And someone to dream for in bright years ahead... The most amazing thing when you turned 3 Is that your world's filled with discoveries. You've grown so big when you turned 4. You're not so little anymore. Hooray! Hooray! You finally turned 5 Bet you thought this day would never arrive. Five years gone by, How time has flown, We can't believe how you've grown! You're such a joy and much fun too, Oh my! My baby's turning 6! Turning 6 is a big event Filled with fun and merriment But please don't mind If we will always be by your side. So blow out your candles One by one Enjoy your birthday and Have lots of fun. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you, son!

the women’s birthright.

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. From that phrase, who would not be aware of how different a man is from a woman. It’s important for me to take this opportunity and put down my thoughts and understanding on what it means to me to be born a woman in this world. I often find myself thinking deep silent thoughts, talking to myself in my mind asking myself who am I and what am doing here? So ok yes I am a Woman and I should feel wonderful about that and I do and then I look around me and I see so much happening that is unfair toward women in general in our confused society. Men treat women as the weaker sex. Are we really the weaker sex? Or they are just trying to convince themselves that it’s a man’s world. But frankly, it is absolutely a woman’s world. Women can live by themselves, they can definitely live without men, but imagine a man without a woman? It’s the end of the world. Feeling good about ourselves is our birthright. Just think how much time we spend in f...

Sonnet 43

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways by Elizabeth Barrett Browning How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace. I love thee to the level of every day's Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light. I love thee freely, as men strive for right; I love thee purely, as they turn from praise, I love thee with the passion put to use In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints -I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life! -and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death. I remember this poem way back high school days. We recited this poem in the English class. Our instructor’s name is Ms. Estacio, oh my I forgot her first name to think she’s my favorite and so as the subject and the poem… How can you say that you love a person? Love is the most wonder...

My all time favorite song.

What Might Have Been by Lou Pardini Somewhere, lost in the wind I'm watching you Sunlight touching your hair And I remember Somehow, we said that we would never stray But somehow we lost our way Promises too often spoken Are easily broken apart I'm ready this time I know that I'm no longer undecided Don't wanna be A fool wondering what might have been Trace of forever lingering Drawing me closer to you A new beginning Now I know There is no doubt I understand Just how fragile love can be I can't forget Your mem'ry found me Now I know where I belong I'm ready this time I know that I'm no longer undecided Don't wanna be a fool wondering What might have been Through every day, into the night With only love to guide us I'm ready to go, coz I've got to know What might have been Let the lovin' decide, I can't run, I can't hide I want you to know My heart will show that I'm ready this time I know that I'm no longer undecide...

Being together with friends.

Anyone knows Barney? O well, who doesn’t. Do I need to describe him? The big purple dinosaur with three other friends, Baby Bop, the green one, BJ, the yellow one and Riff, the orange one… My daughter loves watching Barney over and over again. And on the part where Barney will sing the “I Love You” song, she will call me and we will dance and sing together…we do that every day in the morning while I am preparing myself for the office… Anyways, there is also this one song, “Everything’s better with a friend”. I kinda relate the Barney songs to our surprise-birthday-party-to-be for Dennis, a friend from high school that was no longer a surprise party because he read my message for his wife, very smart… I sent a message to his wife, asking when he is leaving for abroad. And since it’s his birthday on May 3, we were planning sana to have a surprise party for him and I will need the help of his wife sana . But then, just this morning, I read a message from his wife that it ...

RETRO Holiday.

--> When I received a Special Order appointing me as a member of the Christmas Committee for this year, I was kinda excited….yehey! we will be organizing a parteeh! And I just supe r love organizing an event… Yes… I am a certified frustrated event organizer. But, once in a while, I am using my artistic skills (naks!) when friends asked me to design an invitation or a guest book for whatever occasion and of course, it is all for free. Sometimes naman, one of our big bosses asked me to make a presentation for her friend’s birthday and mind you… it is not for free…extra income huh? Anyways, organizing the party is not easy…it is one hell of an effort. Brainstorming, full of brainstorming and of course with twelve minds of ideas…it is really magulo. And with the few meetings, plus snacks and coffee, we have finally come up with a theme…RETRO. And of course, I was tasked to come up with the design, the party title, the invitation, in short lahat ng kaartehan. I ...
