Such a happy feeling.

I have a dear friend, Annie who is into reading books when we were in college. And every time she has a new book, she shares it with me. We love visiting Powerbooks at Megamall after dining at Frenchbaker.
And every time I am blue, I always borrow her book, “Being Happy” by Andrew Matthews. Even though I have read it a million times already, it really makes me happy, makes me decide to be happy and continue to be happy.
It is a self-help book which aims to help people understand themselves better and in turn become happier. It covers many aspects of life, among them attitudes, confidence, luck, success, depression, humour, forgiveness and many more. It discusses how an understanding of nature's laws can help us deal better with our own natures. It is about why you spill spaghetti only down the front of your BEST suit; why traffic lights stay red for half a day when you are running late for an appointment; why you can drive a wreck for fifteen years and never scratch it . . . and then dent your new car after two days!
Lucky or Jinx?
Ever wonder why there are people who are in the right place at the right time? Or there are times that nothing seems right as if the world is turning its back on you.
Is there really such thing as lucky day, lucky color, lucky number, lucky shirt, lucky pen, lucky drink, whatever lucky something? Being lucky does not depend on the day, on the color of your shirt, the number of your birthday or any of those lucky something. I think it depends on how you want something to happen.
It depends on the positive energy and vibes you are attracting. It is more on the optimistic thinking. It is in the will, prayer and faith.
If you are riding a bike and you feel that you will fall and suddenly, you fell, it is because you were predicting something bad will happen. And predicting that way is a means of attracting negative atmosphere, negative feelings.
Do you know a person who always resigns on his job after a month or two? It may be easier to look for a new job, you can easily pass the exam and the interview. You never feel any nerve-racking or nail-biting moment during these times. You can attract all the positive energy to surpass these. But after a month, you feel uncomfortable with your job, with your boss, with your colleagues, with the location of your office, with the food in the cafeteria, all because you have reached a month. It became a pattern that you were looking forward to. And because you are looking forward to it, it will eventually happen.
But you treat this as a jinx, a curse, an out of luck.
Being happy is a CHOICE.
It is a choice that everybody does not want to hold on to because they prefer to feel the hurt, the anger, the envy, and all the negative feelings around. I am not saying that feeling those negative vibrations is a bad idea. But we don't have to embrace it to the fullest and feel pitiful and pathetic. Everything shall be in balance. And yes, we cannot feel happiness without all those negative feelings because these feelings will lead us to the decision on choosing to feel and be happy.
Feeling happy does not depend on the material and expensive things that you have. It does not depend on getting what you want while others are suffering and hurting. Neither by stepping on someone else’s shoes.
That can never be a true happiness and even if you feel happy for a moment by doing those things, you will still feel the guilt, the incompleteness because I believe that what can complete a person is a true happiness.
Being happy is appreciating all the small things that is happening around you. You can never get all the things that you want and desire. Not all that you want is necessarily all that you need. Let us not just look at the big picture. You have to look deeper, because that is where you can find what you are truly looking for.
Appreciate a simple “hi” and “hello” from someone you meet in the hallway or in the elevator.
Appreciate the good breakfast that filled your tummy.
Appreciate the guard who opened the door for you this morning.
Appreciate the gardener who waters the plants with beautiful yellow flowers that you saw and made you smile on your way in the office.
Appreciate all the persons who smile at you and simply care to smile back.
Appreciate the good music you’ve been hearing in the radio.
Appreciate the sunny day.
Appreciate the rain once in a while.
Appreciate a phone conversation with a friend.
Appreciate a friend.
Appreciate a simple message.
Appreciate eating a snickers chocolate bar.
Appreciate a chance to say what you feel.
Appreciate being heard.
Appreciate being understood.
Appreciate a simple message.
Appreciate eating a snickers chocolate bar.
Appreciate a chance to say what you feel.
Appreciate being heard.
Appreciate being understood.
Appreciate being accepted.
Appreciate being loved.
Appreciate a joke.
Appreciate a child’s laugh.
Appreciate the words "i miss you" and “i love you”.
Speaking straight from the shoulder, there are one million and one things that we forget to appreciate.
And these things, little things create the big picture.
Now, it is plain and simple everyone, try appreciating the little things around you, simple things that is happening to you because these little things will lead you to one thing that everybody desires.
and that is BEING HAPPY.
Appreciate a joke.
Appreciate a child’s laugh.
Appreciate the words "i miss you" and “i love you”.

and there is this song that suites my post:
Happy Feeling
Sister Sledge
Such a happy feeling
When I look at you
Because you bring me sunshine and all the things you do
Well, I like to be with you
Every hour of the day
Cause I just got a happy feeling
Ooh love to feel this way
Ooh yeah
Refrain:
Happy feeling, looking in your eyes
Happy feeling, you’re a blessing in disguise
Happy feeling, when I’m here with you
I just feel so good inside
Don’t know what to do
Such a happy feeling
When I’m next to you
Love that inspiration
Love the things you do
Well, I like to think of you
Baby when I’m feeling low
So I can keep this happy feeling
You’re so good to know
Ooh yeah
*Repeat Refrain*
