Another school year is over.

And it is definitely a big “whew” for me because I can extend my sleeping hours till six in the morning, no more assignments and projects, no more parent meetings, no more reviewing during weekends and exam week and most of all, no more pushing and pressuring my kids to study hard.

Oh yes, I have two months to enjoy and I have to enjoy that two months to the fullest…ha-ha! I am going to boast a little bit…because my kids did well in school this school year.

Louie Geraurd, my kuya Luigi who was twice First Honor and once Best in Conduct is on the Third Honor this year. I know if there is someone that I am really pushing to study hard, to write well, to read the words he is copying from the board, it is him. Because kuya has the tendency to be some kinda tamad. He is easy-go-lucky, saying that he knows it already. And I am pushing him because I know what his potential is. Kuya is now on the Second Grade this June. But hey, Third Honor is an accomplishment and I am happy for him. Now I can see in him that he is now inspired to get into the Second and the First Honor.

Jean Gaberell, my Ju-jule, who was once First Honor and Best in Conduct, got the Best in Mathematics, Best in Reading, Best in Conduct, Top One in Class and Outstanding Pupil for this school year. I was so surprised with all his accomplishments because at first, we were having a hard time in reviewing but then his exams and merit cards says it all. He really came out of his shell. He was also an emcee during their graduation ceremony and made his Thank You speech upon receiving his medal. And Jule will be on the First Grade this June.

My only girl, Margueritte Gayle who graduated from Nursery got an Award for being Most Neat. She is such a baby…she was asking me where her medal was during the ceremony. I am really proud of her because she got an award. It’s just that, after the ceremony, she got her face all frowned because she wanted a medal. Ha-ha!
I told her, if you want a medal, you should study hard, do your assignment and practice writing your name.
And like kuya, I also saw in her the motivation to do better next time. Gayle will be Kinder this June.
I have posted some pictures from their Culminating Activity, Graduation and Recognition at my Facebook account and many have congratulated not only them but also the mommy for doing a good job, ehem!

I admit, reading those comments is a blissful feeling for me because behind any child’s accomplishment is a super duper fulfilled mom. Although there is quite a guilt in it because I may be pushing them hard, pressuring them to be on top.

I just wish they don’t see it that way.
Because no matter what award they got, whatever place they got, I will always be PROUD of them.
