Ash Wednesday
Today is Ash Wednesday. I attended the mass at the office.
And the homily was really nice.
It says there,
Do not give alms like the hypocrites do.
They give alms in public for the reason that they want people to see that they are serving and reaching out to the poor.
You can give alms in secret.
Do not let your left hand see what your right hand is doing.
Do not pray like hypocrites do.
They like showing themselves that they are praying truthfully.
You can go to your inner room and pray quietly.
Do not fast like hypocrites do.
You do not have to look gloomy just to show the people that you are fasting.
You can fast secretly.
Hypocrites do those things to show off. And they got their reward-
Public praises.
And it ends there.
GOD see everything we do in secret and then He gives us our reward.
And it is very TRUE.
GOD sees everything people do in private.
No matter how you read it, how you interpret it,
It is very TRUE.
That phrase left a huge question mark in my mind that made me analyze myself.
What were the things I did in secret, both good and bad to my family, to my friends, to the people around me?
I consider this is the proper time for everybody to think, to repent, and be at one again with GOD who is always been there for us.
I wish everybody will experience a very meaningful Lenten Season.
